About the HK VP9
The Heckler & Koch VP9 arrived in 2014 as the company's striker-fired duty pistol and introduced the interchangeable backstrap system that now spans HK's handgun catalog. Its trigger breaks cleanly with a short, audible reset, a combination many factory striker designs do not match. The 17-round magazine, 4.09-inch barrel, and light slide produce modest recoil for a mid-size 9mm. Controls run fully ambidextrous, and both paddle and button magazine releases exist depending on the variant. Sights are serviceable from the factory and simple to replace with aftermarket options.
