About the Colt Python
The Colt Python returned to production in 2020 as a modernized version of the ventilated-rib .357 revolver that collectors had long pushed beyond casual purchase. The action is hand-finished, giving a double-action pull smoother than most production revolvers deliver, and the adjustable sights hold zero better than the original design managed. A 6-inch barrel suits target work while the shorter 4.25-inch version balances better for belt carry. Snake-egg grips and the semi-open topstrap preserve the classic profile, and the full underlug adds forward weight that tames muzzle flip with heavy magnum loads.
