About the Ruger LCR (.357 Mag)
The LCR applies Ruger's monolithic fire-control housing to a snub-nose revolver, isolating the trigger mechanism's friction surfaces from the frame so the double-action pull stays smooth across production examples. In .357 Magnum the cylinder, barrel, and front frame section switch to stainless steel to contain the pressure, and the added mass keeps unloaded weight near seventeen ounces despite the more powerful chambering. The 1.87-inch barrel favors close-range defense, and the Hogue Tamer grip blunts the snap of magnum loads. A shrouded hammer prevents snag, and .38 Special cartridges can be used for lighter practice sessions.
