About the Smith & Wesson Model 19
The Model 19 was designed in the 1950s to give officers .357 Magnum capability in a K-frame that still carried comfortably through a shift. Current production uses a 4.25-inch barrel that balances the six-shot cylinder, and the adjustable rear sight with a red ramp front supports accurate work at defensive distances. The revolver digests .38 Special for practice without the wear of full-power magnum loads, the double-action pull smooths with use, and a hammer block keeps the firing pin inert until the trigger is deliberately pulled. It remains one of the most recognized duty revolvers in American law enforcement history.
