About the Ithaca 37

The Ithaca 37 loads and ejects through a single port beneath the receiver, a 1937 arrangement that keeps the receiver's sides closed against rain and grit and lets left-handed shooters run the gun without shells crossing their line of sight. The design served police departments and hunters in equal measure, and current field models carry a 26-inch barrel with a four-round magazine. At about seven and a half pounds, the gun steadies the swing on crossing teal and clays, and the familiar pump cycle requires no retraining for anyone who has run an 870 or 500.
