About the Kimber Custom II
The Custom II represents Kimber's baseline full-size 1911 in .45 ACP: a five-inch barrel, a fitted bushing, and a trigger tuned well above the original military specification. Kimbers arrive with an extended beavertail grip safety, a lowered and flared ejection port, and front-strap checkering that keeps the steel frame planted during strings of fire. The single-action trigger breaks cleanly once the shooter learns the short take-up, and the standard magazine holds seven rounds, though many owners move to eight-round aftermarket tubes. Slide-to-frame fit on the production line sets a standard other factory 1911s rarely match.
