About the Maverick 88

The Maverick 88 builds on the Mossberg 500 with a simplified trigger group and a crossbolt safety at the trigger guard instead of the top-tang slider. The rest of the action follows the 500's dual-action-bar pump design, which has decades of police and civilian service behind it. The Security configuration carries a 20-inch barrel and a seven-round magazine, and the platform serves home defense, training, and general shooting with the same shell handling taught on any American pump. Owners often start here before moving up the Mossberg family as their needs change.
